U. P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club of Watersmeet, Michigan
Annual Club Trip


This year it was to Marquette, MI.

John and Jan Mowrey are trip coordinators.
Jan arranged the accommodations for everyone at the Marquette Holiday Inn.
She also took photos, and Jan and John arranged all the things to see, where to stop and start etc.

    Jan's quick notes about the trip:

    Day 1
    1. Stop at Kenton for warm up
    2. Stop at Sidnaw, MI for gas
    3. Mt. Shasta Inn closed so they ate lunch in Ishpeming
    Arrived at Marquette, MI Holiday Inn at 4:00 p.m.
    Everyone enjoyed a nice meal and hot tub that night at the Holiday Inn.
    Rested those weary bodies and got ready for the next day ride.


    Day 2
    1. Left around 9 a.m. - Lookout over Marquette
    2. Took road along Lake Superior arriving at the Brownstone for lunch
    3. Leaving Brownstone went to enjoy local artist at Lakenland.
    4. Steel sculptures & area welcome for snowmobilers
    5. Continued on trail 8 with last stop in Gwinn for last break.
    6. On to Marquette and the Holiday Inn. Pizza was ordered in for the group by Bob & Dianne Baldassari. Thanks much!
    7. Then the hot tub and bed.


    Day 3
    1. Left for home around 9 a.m.
    2. Took road south to Amasa
    3. Then the fun ride back to Watersmeet and home for most.
    4. Arrived about 6:00 p.m.
    5. Total Trip 420 miles.
    6. Great Trails, Great Ride and Great Friends. See you next year.
